Miss Mary Poppins!

Vibrant colors is a trend that initially landed a spot in the fashion scene in the early 80's and reoccurs repeatedly in diffrent dynamics and form. Bold pieces can sometimes be hard to pair appropriately with other fabrics and the easiest solution (for those with a lack of overflowing optimism) would be a handbag. These handbags look good with almost anything in the closet and spruce up even the most notoriously boring outfit (but what would you be wearing a boring outfit for anyway right?).My favorite is the mini magenta Lanvin Chain bag. For those of you with a little bit more charisma wear this trend in the form of a solid pant or mini dress.

The Black and White Influence

The style of today's look came from cherry blossom photographs that were taken right outside my grandma's apartment in the bay. The photograph originally was taken in color but the effect of black and white was just to tempting to pass up. I really loved the floral design on the Preen Line shorts and that was visually where the outfit started formation. I tied everything together with a basic black hobo handbag from Jerome Dreyfuss, Lanvin's girly gladiator sandals, 50's circa style sunglasses from The Row, and a black drape blouse from Kain.

White Magnolia Tree

Magnolia Trees are something I rarely saw as a child growing up in Northern California. When given the chance to pass by them I love to devour their sweet fragrant smell and enjoy the way that their Magnolia petals curl up on the outer edges. I think their white flowers add a warm touch to nature in spring.Although I am not sure if the flowers in this dress are indeed Magnolia's, I found the hues in this dress to be quite pleasant to the eye as well.Since the hem on this dress falls around the lower thigh, this outfit would make for great business attire at the office.

Red Carpet Red-Y

After browsing a few photo's from recent award shows I felt inspired to upload a red carpet worthy look. I chose to go with bold statement colors and patterns. When choosing red carpet attire it is essential to remember that hundreds of other people will also be photographed and many will get lost in translation from the camera to the news stand if their look is boring and too bland. Also this key rule applies irregardless of if the crowd is full of paparazzi and flashing lights or if their are only a few paps standing on the sidelines. No matter how big or small the event is its important to be presentable and striking so that even the smallest town fashions will remember the ensemble you wore to the Red Carpet event.

Time is Ticking with Floral Stiching

Time doesn't always agree with us and some days we leave the house in a rush but that in no ways grants us the right to leave looking less than stellar. I picked this causal outfit in record speed today and it still looks has that classic-girly feel. I think the stitching in the cream Anthropology (I just cant get enough of that place!) sweater is remarkable and really enhances the beauty of it. Since it was such an embracing and powerful piece I paired it with A&F dark wash denim shorts, Jeffrey Campbell neutral heels,Ralph Lauren pearl studded earrings, and a Forever 21 salmon colored camisole. Not only was this outfit easy to put together but it was also one of my lower priced looks too.It just goes to show that time and money are never an obstacle!

Mulberry Pre-Fall 2011 Collection

In my opinion this collection was stunning. It is mesmerizing how soft and neutral the pieces can be and still have that ever appealing edge to them. My favorite is the olive-tan stripped cardigan over the black floral mini-dress. It provides a bit of winter with black and spring with olive. The gold chains on the neutral country side inspired boots adds a refreshing classic feel as well. For Mulberry's first Pre-Fall Collection this is noticeably a job well done and well worth an applause!

Garden Party's

The sun is out and flowers are starting to bloom which sparks the idea of a garden party. Typical garden party attire is a bright sun dress and some sort of light jacket since the weather is warm but not scorching hot. Seeing that blue and yellow are two of my favorite spring colors I fell in love with this striped pastel Anthropology dress. On occasion, Garden parties are fancy and upscale but for the most part they tend to be on the low key and casual side. That being said,I paired the belted cotton dress with a denim Anthropology jacket, a gray Jas MB clutch, Manolo Blahnik sandals, and Pearl and Gold earrings from Ten Thousand Things.
